BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The state Department of Transportation says North Dakota residents should be on alert for scam phone calls from someone who claims to be with the Motor Vehicle Division.
The agency said Thursday that people have reported getting calls with instructions on how to make payment because their registrations are overdue.
The department says it doesn’t make such phone calls about motor vehicle registrations and that the calls are meant to trick people into handing out payment and information.
