DENVER (AP) - An 18-year-old convicted of shooting a fellow teenager to death outside an apartment in Aurora has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/rDHOAs ) James Lee was sentenced Friday for the Sept. 2 shooting that killed 14-year-old Marcell Jay Johnson and injured a 17-year-old boy. A jury convicted Lee in May of attempted reckless manslaughter and third-degree assault.
He was acquitted of attempted first-degree murder.
Prosecutors say the shooting happened when Lee inserted himself into a fight between Johnson and some other teens.
