SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (AP) - Bay Area police are looking for a man accused of spraying a stranger with pepper spray and trying to abduct her.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/2a9FwhI ) that police say the suspect attacked a 23-year-old woman on Thursday in San Leandro. The victim was walking to work when the man came up and sprayed her in the face with pepper spray.

Police say the woman was temporarily blinded and the assailant then knocked her to the ground and began dragging her to his car. A passerby intervened and was sprayed in the face with more pepper spray.



The suspect was able to escape in his silver sedan.
