JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. (AP) - Two concrete silos situated on public land along state Route 15 in Jeffersonville will look a little different come the middle of August.
Vermont Public Radio reports (https://bit.ly/2aCVZQN ) muralist Sarah Rutherford, a University of Vermont graduate, will be painting the silos at the former site of Bell-Gates Lumber to highlight the northern Vermont village’s past and future.
The Cambridge Arts Council received a grant for the public art project from the Vermont Arts Council last year. The project was given the go-ahead in May when voters at Jeffersonville’s Village Meeting approved Rutherford’s final designs.
In addition to depicting the village’s history, the silos will also feature elements of the seasons.
The mural will be unveiled on Aug. 12, the eve of Cambridge’s eighth annual Festival of the Arts.
