ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a 36-year-old Many woman faces an October sentencing date after she pleaded guilty to having a shotgun with an illegal barrel.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said in a news release Christi McPherson pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of unlawful possession of a short-barreled shotgun before U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell.
According to information from her guilty plea, she had contacted the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office in October 2015 to find out of any of the firearms she had taken from an ex-boyfriend’s home had been stolen.
Finley says one came back as stolen and she failed to meet with deputies to turn in the weapon.
She was later arrested outside a convenience store.
