SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Traffic on the highway in Salt Lake City has been backed up for hours as authorities closed several lanes to investigate a fatal crash.

Authorities say 34-year-old Amber Orencole of Midvale died instantly in the crash during the Friday morning rush hour.

The incident began about 7:30 a.m. when a grass fire caused one northbound Interstate 15 lane to close.

Utah Highway Patrol said Orencole when encountering the ensuing congestion apparently lost control of the vehicle she was driving in, went sideways and collided with a semi-truck in another lane.
