LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky Christian University graduate Laura Jones has been crowned Miss Kentucky.

The Lexington Herald-Leader (https://bit.ly/29aPIGb ) reports Jones won the pageant competing as Miss Danville on Saturday night. The 23-year-old will represent Kentucky in the Miss America Pageant in September in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Jones’ platform is raising awareness of eating disorders in young women, an issue she has struggled with.

Jones competed against 29 hopefuls at the Singletary Center for the Arts at UK.

Miss Jefferson County Talia Horn was voted first runner up.
