SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A Bexar (BAYR) County commissioner has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated after his vehicle rear-ended two vehicles in the drive-through line at a San Antonio fast-food restaurant.
Court records show Commissioner Kevin Wolff was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at a Whataburger restaurant just north of downtown San Antonio. Police say a field sobriety test suggested that Wolff was impaired. Wolff declined to take a breath test after his arrest, so a warrant was obtained to take a blood sample.
He was released on $1,000 bond. The San Antonio Express-News reports Wolff later told reporters that police did not ask him to take a breath test, that he was on blood-pressure medications. However, he acknowledged that he had consumed alcohol earlier in the evening.
