WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (AP) - A man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a police officer.

Willimantic police say they arrested 27 year old Danny Vazquez on Saturday.

Police say Vazquez went to a home and told the resident he was a police officer and had received a complaint about the resident selling drugs. Vazquez allegedly displayed a pair of handcuffs, was dressed in a suit and was wearing some kind of listening device in his ear.

Police say he later stopped two other people in a parking lot and told them he was an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Vazquez was arrested at his home and later released on $5,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court Aug. 9. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
