SAN DIEGO (AP) - A public funeral mass and a memorial will be held this week for a San Diego police officer who was shot and killed during a traffic stop.

The San Diego Union (https://bit.ly/2aFO0RR) reports that a funeral Mass for Officer Jonathan DeGuzman will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bonita.

At the same time on Friday a memorial service is planned at Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon.



Both services are open to the public.

DeGuzman, who has a wife and two children, was shot and killed during a traffic stop on Friday.

His partner, Officer Wade Irwin, was seriously injured but is expected to fully recover.

The suspect, Jesse Gomez, was also injured and is expected to survive.
