TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) - A 6-year-old girl was taken to the hospital after she was pulled from a Connecticut lake.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection says emergency personnel were alerted on Sunday evening to a possible drowning at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington.

Authorities say the girl was conscious after she was pulled from the water. She was taken to a hospital, where she was treated and released.

Authorities did not provide further details.

The New Haven Register reports that a 5-year-old boy drowned in the same pond in June.
