LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - Police say a Maine woman is dead and her husband suffered serious injuries after their car struck a tree in Lewiston.
Authorities say 74-year-old Estelle Martel, of Lewiston, was a passenger in the car driven by her husband, 80-year-old Normand Martel, when it struck a tree and flipped over on Pond Road.
The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/29bJYvE ) that the accident happened at about 5 p.m. Saturday.
Normand Martel was taken to Central Maine Medical with what police said were serious injuries.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
