SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A week after a father and his 1-year-old daughter went missing, divers have discovered their car in the Sacramento Delta as details emerge on how the vehicle ended up in the water.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1r2F78K ) the California Highway Patrol says Tuesday that it appears Kyler Jackson took a sharp left turn and traveled down an embankment before hitting a tree and entering a slough.

Jackson and his daughter, Kaylee had been missing since May 22. Divers pulled the bodies and the car from the water last weekend. The coroner’s office has yet to determine an official cause of death for the two.

California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Bradley says the south Sacramento office is continuing its investigation.
