BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Whirlpool Corp. says it’s selling discounted appliances in its hometown, and proceeds from the one-day sale are going to charity.
The Herald-Palladium reports (https://bit.ly/1POmroP ) Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool is holding the Overhauled, Old & Obsolete Appliance Liquidation Sale on Saturday at the Center for Partner Development building. Company employees are volunteering their time to work the sale.
Proceeds go to the 2016 Whirlpool employee United Way campaign. Last year’s sale raised $70,000 and officials hope to raise $80,000 this year.
The sale will include roughly 200 ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers and dryers. Products will be covered by a one-year warranty.
