SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Police say a teenager accused in the robbery and shooting outside a Savannah shopping mall has turned himself into police.
Savannah-Chatham County police spokeswoman Eunicia Baker said in a news release Sunday that the 16-year-old turned himself into police Saturday night. The 63-year-old Marie Cochran was shot when she fought back during a robbery outside Savannah Mall on Friday morning.
Police say Cochran was shot once and suffered serious injuries. She was taken to a local hospital.
The incident occurred in the front parking lot between the mall’s two main retailers, Target and Bass Pro Shop. Investigators are still looking for three others who fled the scene in a black Lexus sedan with tinted windows.
Baker says the teen faces charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.
