PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A man and woman accused in the robbery and shooting death of a Biloxi man in Jackson County have waived their preliminary hearings in the case and will remain jailed without bond pending grand jury review of the case for indictment.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/237otmq) 35-year-old Patrick Anderson and 36-year-old Rita Olivia Johnston, both of Ocean Springs, are each charged with capital murder. The pair is accused in the March 22 robbery and shooting death of 29-year-old Donatae Lashaw Banks, of Biloxi.

County Court Judge T. Larry Wilson presided over the court docket Monday and attorneys for the two suspects said they were waiving the preliminary hearing.

An investigation began after a Jackson County patrol deputy found Banks’ body on a dirt road in the St. Andrews community.
