SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The mother of a man fatally shot by Utah police has pleaded guilty to charges related to interfering with police.

The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1sF6yqs ) that 53-year-old Susan Hunt pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor Friday. The charge stems from an October 2014 incident in which police say Hunt began yelling at officers conducting an unrelated traffic stop.

Hunt’s son, 22-year-old Darrien Hunt, had been fatally shot month the month before.

An agreement in that case would have dismissed Hunt’s charges, but it was violated when she was cited in January for driving under the influence and disorderly conduct in Tooele County.

Hunt will be on probation for nine months and must pay a $500 fine or complete community service.

A hearing in her DUI case is scheduled for July.
