HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (AP) - Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 23-year-old woman whose body was found in a nature preserve on Long Island over two years ago.

Suffolk County police say 28-year-old Fernando Romualdo, of Huntington Station, was arrested Wednesday on a murder charge and is being held without bail at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in Riverhead.

At the time of his arrest, police say the suspect was incarcerated at the Mohawk Correctional Facility in Rome on an unrelated charge. It wasn’t clear if he had a lawyer who could comment.

The body of Sarah Strobel, of Huntington Station, was discovered on the side of a path at the Froehlich Farm Nature Preservice in Huntington in October, 2013.
