JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy has resigned from the Sheriff’s Office before pleading guilty to driving under the influence.
Media outlets report that 38-year-old Kristie Foster pleaded guilty Tuesday in Madison County General Sessions Court.
Court documents show that Foster was pulled over around 3 a.m. April 9 on U.S. 45 after police say she swerved in her lane while speeding. The documents say Foster’s eyes were bloodshot and she smelled of alcohol.
Foster was off duty at the time of her arrest.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office suspended Foster without pay after the incident.
Foster will serve four days in custody and pay court costs. She will also have to complete 24 hours of community service, a driving and DUI class and supervised probation. Furthermore, her licenses will be suspended for a year.
