DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - Police say they have discovered a body on a Davenport road and determined the person died after being thrown from the side of a truck.

Police tell the Quad-City Times (https://bit.ly/28TNAVm ) that the body was found late Thursday on West 58th Street after someone called 911.

Responding officers and medics found the body of a male around 10:30 p.m.

A police report says an initial investigation found that the person had been clinging to the side of a truck while it was being driven recklessly. The person fell from the truck and hit the pavement, causing fatal injuries.

Police say he was a Davenport resident, but have not identified him pending notification of his family.
