PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Pueblo police have released the name of a man who was shot and critically injured by officers after he allegedly brandished a handgun.
The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://goo.gl/SgSrYB) officers confronted 27-year-old Skyler Manzanares in a backyard Wednesday morning and shot him when he pulled a gun. Manzanares was wanted on two counts of felony contempt of court - one stemming from a robbery and the other for possession of a controlled substance.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
The two officers who were involved have been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure after a police shooting.
Manzanares’ was hospitalized in critical condition but has since improved.
