GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi police say a Gulfport teen wanted in a shooting death earlier this morning has been arrested in Florida.
Sgt. Damon McDaniel tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/28R2wRs) 17-year-old Juwan Johnson, wanted in the June 8 slaying of 21-year-old Stanton Saunders, is in custody in Lake County, Florida.
He says Gulfport police were notified Thursday that Johnson had been arrested in Leesburg, Florida.
Johnson is being held pending extradition back to Mississippi.
Police say Saunders collapsed in the street after he was seen running as shots were fired at him. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest.
