Oh what a difference a break makes. On Thursday, our English cousins across the pond voted to leave the European Union. For some reason, they had enough of unelected bureaucrats issuing rules and regulations ruining their lives and throwing the future in the dustbin.

Sound familiar?

The bold action by the British people should not be viewed as an isolated case of revolution; it is one in a cacophony of signals as liberal and leftist leadership read too much into their positions and still exhibit dangerous disregard and even contempt for the citizenry.

Which brings us to the United States. In November, we will follow England with our own break from a dangerous and incompetent liberal bureaucracy. The reaction from bureaucracies here and abroad include “shocked,” “stunning,” and “inexplicable.” Only if you haven’t been listening. As it became clear Brexit had won the day, Salena Zito, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review political reporter, noted on Twitter, “Brexit is what happens when you don’t listen to your people for a generation.”

Ask the people of Venezuela and Greece what happens when you do nothing to stop the disaster always brought by socialism. The British people decided dealing with economic adjustments now, on their terms, is preferable to exponential inflation, food riots, hijacking food trucks and looting.

The bureaucracies, of course, live in their dumb pretend world, so it makes sense they didn’t see it coming. You see, no one they know wanted Brexit. Just like how the Republican bureaucracy doesn’t know anyone voting for Donald Trump.

Woe to those who believe the small talk and drunken self-righteousness at their cocktail and dinner parties are a reflection of what the masses are deciding. And we will decide.

President Obama even traveled to England to show support for Prime Minister David Cameron and lectured the British people about staying in the European Union. He even threatened them at one point about damaging trade deals.

No worries for Mr. Obama; his record of mission failure remains at 100 percent. The British people were not swayed by his presence or threats — they voted to leave. And his pal Mr. Cameron has resigned.

Ric Grenell, appointed in 2001 by President George W. Bush as director of communications and public diplomacy for the United States permanent representative to the United Nations, becoming the longest serving U.S. spokesman at the United Nations, tweeted, “The U.S. Government should immediately move to strengthen our ties with the U.K.: trade deals, economic ties, more security & Intel sharing.”

He’s right and of course we should. But we won’t. Mr. Obama, the petulant loser, will try to punish the United Kingdom. Mr. Trump has already congratulated the British people for taking their country back and said the decision to leave the EU was “a great thing.” Now he can reassure them that he has their back, as the American Exit from liberal bureaucratic insanity will be made clear in just a little over 4 months.

In the meantime, unelected bureaucrats here at home continue to do what the bureaucrats in the EU do — make rules and regulations every minute of every day.

Redstate.com has detailed the extent of the lawlessness of the Obama administration and what its reliance on “regulations” issued by the unelected has done to the nation:

• The federal regulatory cost reached $1.885 trillion in 2015.

• Federal regulation is a hidden tax that amounts to nearly $15,000 per U.S. household each year.

• Some 60 federal departments, agencies and commissions have 3,297 regulations in development at various stages in the pipeline.

• The 2015 Federal Register contains 80,260 pages, the third-highest page count in its history.

• In 2015, 114 laws were enacted by Congress during the calendar year, while 3,410 rules were issued by agencies. Thus, 30 rules were issued for every law enacted last year.

One simple example of the out-of-control liberal bureaucracy? CNSNews.com reported that new EPA regulations issued under Mr. Obama are 38 times as long as the Bible. Think about that.

The machines as they are work overtime to keep you distracted. The latest embarrassment is the Democrat Party and their little display in the House of Representatives — a “sit-in” demanding that Congress strip Americans of due process and civil and constitutional rights.

All while citing Selma and singing “We shall overcome,” this is what the Democratic Party has become — using past success at expanding freedom in a disturbed new effort to smash it.

While Democrats were engaging in their gun-control Kabuki theater, no one in the chamber was at all concerned about how the wife of the Orlando terrorist, a woman under investigation as a co-conspirator in the murder of 49 people and attempted murder of 53 others, was allowed to abscond.

And while Democrats like Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren were so craven as to accuse the GOP of choosing to “sell weapons to ISIS,” Mr. Obama set another terrorist free. On Thursday, Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard was freed from Gitmo and flown off to Montenegro. But he is much more than a “bodyguard,” as the Free Beacon reported, “Abdel Malik Ahmed Abdel Wahab Al Rahabi, a top terror operative who had planned to participate in the 9/11 attacks and who received training to be a suicide bomber …”

Yes, the popular revolt in England is a rejection of insanity. Our day of reckoning is 11/8/16.
