MUSKEGON, Mich. (AP) - A western Michigan man has entered a plea in the fatal drug overdose of a 22-year-old woman.

MLive.com reports (https://bit.ly/1t2nmHV ) that 28-year-old Darryl Pollard pleaded guilty Monday to delivery of a controlled substance causing death and to being a habitual offender.

Pollard will serve at least 15 years in prison. He will be sentenced July 19.

Defense attorney Michael Oakes told MLive.com Monday that Pollard “made some damaging admissions during his phone conversations to family members” from jail in connection with Kayla Parrish’s death.

Parrish collapsed and lost consciousness in May 2015 after heroin was injected into her arm.

Pollard said in court that he delivered heroin to another woman who injected it into Parrish.

Shalyn Raney pleaded guilty in November to manslaughter. She has not yet been sentenced.
