BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The number of homes sold in metro Baton Rouge rose by 0.2 percent in April as a plunge in activity in Livingston Parish wiped out sales gains in East Baton Rouge and Ascension parishes.
According to figures released Tuesday by the Greater Baton Rouge Association of Realtors’ Multiple Listing Service, The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1svSuzE) there were 825 homes sold in the nine-parish metro area. That compares to 823 sales during April 2015.
Livingston Parish had a 24 percent drop in sales in April.
Ascension Parish had an 11.4 percent gain in home sales, the biggest increase in April.
East Baton Rouge Parish, which accounts for the largest share of home sales in the market, saw a 10 percent increase from April 2015.
