Police arrest brother of 10-year-old who was fatally shot

DENVER (AP) - Police have arrested the older brother of a 10-year-old boy who was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Aurora.

Investigators said Tuesday the 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of negligent child abuse resulting in death and is being held at a juvenile detention center.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/jbvimo ) Aurora police called to the Nordic Arms apartments Friday night found the 10-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating, but family members said they believe the boy died from an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound. They believe he found the gun wrapped in cloth and sitting on top of a shelf.
