SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - A man has been charged in a police chase and crash that cut off power to more than 1,000 people in southwest Missouri.

The Springfield News-Leader (https://sgfnow.co/1LTBA6u ) reports that 36-year-old Shane Tiller, of Springfield, was charged Wednesday in Greene County with resisting arrest.

Court documents say the pursuit began when a deputy spotted an air conditioning unit in the bed of a truck while responding to a report that one had been stolen from a church. Tiller is accused of running red lights and forcing vehicles off the road before crashing into a power pole.

Tiller was arrested after attempting to enter a parked car. Emergency responders transported a woman in Tiller’s truck for treatment.

Bond is set at $50,000. No attorney is listed for him in online court records.
