TYRE, N.Y. (AP) - The del Lago Resort & Casino under construction in the Finger Lakes has paid its $50 million license fee to the state.
With the payment announced Wednesday, Lago becomes the first of the three recently approved upstate casinos to pay its license fee. The fees are due by the end of the month.
The other two casinos licensed in December are in the Catskills and Schenectady.
Del Lago developers say $10 million of the fee will go to Seneca County and the Town of Tyre, where the casino is being built next to the Thruway.
The casino is scheduled to open in February 2017.
