SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A South Jordan man accused of throwing a rock at police officers during unrest after a 17-year-old Somali refugee was shot by police is facing charges.

Police say in charges filed Wednesday that 18-year-old Jonathan Ammon Holman threw a large rock that almost hit one officer’s head and slammed into another’s knee. Authorities say officers used a Taser to control Holman after he tried to run away.

Holman is facing four charges, including assaulting an officer and methamphetamine possession.

Police have said that four people were arrested in unrest near Salt Lake City’s homeless shelter after Abdi Mohamed was critically injured on Feb. 27. Police say an officer fired after Mohamed refused to drop a metal objected being used to beat a man, though others dispute that.

No attorney was immediately listed for Holman.
