JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A 16-year-old alleged gang member has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a toddler in Jacksonville.

The Florida Times-Union (https://bit.ly/1Ma1nlw) reports that Henry Hayes IV was arrested Thursday and is being charged as an adult with murder for the death of 22-month-old Aiden McClendon.

Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams says Hayes is the second person to be charged in the toddler’s shooting. Police arrested 22-year-old Dangelo Wilson on Feb. 5.

Williams says Wilson and Hayes are gang members who were involved in a Jan. 29 shooting that targeted a rival. Instead, the bullets hit a car with the boy inside.

Hayes is also being charged with two counts of attempted murder and other charges. Wilson was charged as an accessory.
