COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A Columbia food bank is celebrating 35 years of helping the hungry.

Harvest Hope will hold a party Friday at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center with an auction and a concert by the group Blues Traveler.

The food bank is finishing one of its most successful years ever. Harvest Hope officials say they served more than 2 million meals in five weeks across South Carolina after the historic floods in October.

Harvest Hope will also give its humanitarian award to Gov. Nikki Haley, who volunteered at the food bank after the flood and encouraged people to donate to help others.
