MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont College of Fine Arts is constructing a new building on its Montpelier campus and will dedicate it to its longtime writing program director.

The Times Argus reports (https://bit.ly/1QXnyRr ) work on the new Louise Harwood Crowley Center for Faculty and Alumni is expected to be completed by summer, and the building will have a soft opening in April.

Marketing director Jay Ericson says the building will primarily serve as living space for faculty members in residence at the school.

The first floor will be a common area for faculty, with bedrooms planned for the top floor. The structure will also house space for alumni programs

Crowley has been at the school for 35 years.
