BEND, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon attorney has asked the court to dismiss the case of a Bend woman accused of smothering her grandmother.

The Bulletin reports (https://bit.ly/1PpyCkO) that 45-year-old Angela Judd is charged with murder in the Dec. 31 death of 92-year-old Nada Bodholdt.

Court documents say Judd told her counselor that she put a pillow over her grandmother’s face until she died because she thought the woman was in her final days and might suffer.

Her attorney, Jonathan Ash, says there’s no evidence showing Bodholdt died of anything other than natural causes. A Deschutes County judge has been hearing testimony to determine whether Judd’s case should go to trial.

No foul play was suspected at the time of Bodholdt’s death. Her body was cremated and no autopsy was conducted.
