GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A new fire station is opening in Grand Forks.

The facility located near Icon Sports Center on the city’s southeast side is the fifth fire station in the community. It cost about $2.8 million to construct the building.

The city has been training a class of 12 new recruits in anticipation of the new station.

A ribbon cutting event is scheduled Thursday at 10 a.m., with tours following the ceremony.
