KERRVILLE, Texas (AP) - A grand jury has determined that the fatal shooting of a Kerrville man by police responding to a domestic violence call was justified.

The San Antonio Express-News (https://bit.ly/22EidCu ) reports that Kerrville police shot 47-year-old Steven Norton on Aug. 16 after they say he fired at authorities from the porch of his home. He later died at a San Antonio hospital.

Assistant District Attorney Lucy Wilke said Tuesday that a Kerr County grand jury examined evidence in the case last week and found no criminal conduct by police and concluded that officers’ use of deadly force was justified.

Wilke said an investigation by Texas Ranger Kevin Wright didn’t identify which of the four officers involved fired the fatal shot because the bullet had disintegrated.
