NORWICH, Conn. (AP) - Police say new information about the 2006 disappearance of a mother of two whose remains were found six years later has led them to a Norwich apartment.

State police on Wednesday said they went to the East Main Street apartment to investigate the death of 26-year-old Erika Cirioni, of Norwich.

No further details were immediately available.

Cirioni went missing on New Year’s Eve in 2006. Her partially buried remains were found in the woods off Oxoboxo Dam Road in Montville in 2012. Her death was eventually classified as a homicide.
