NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Norman police have identified three of the four people killed in a head-on collision on Highway 9.
Police said Wednesday that the victims are 59-year-old Jeffry Pletcher of Shawnee, 34-year-old Melissa Thomas of Tecumseh and 60-year-old James Keithley of Norman. The identity of the fourth victim is pending with the state medical examiner’s office.
Police say Pletcher, Thomas and the as yet unidentified victim were in an eastbound van driven by Pletcher shortly after 11 p.m. Monday when it collided with a westbound sport utility vehicle driven by Keithley. Police say the crash remains under investigation.
The highway was shut down for more than seven hours following the crash.
