RICHMOND, Texas (AP) - Three Houston-area teenagers have been arrested following the fatal shooting of their mother’s boyfriend during an argument while she was at work.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Bennett White was found dead Tuesday at the family’s home in Richmond.
Deputies arrested the suspects - ages 19, 17 and 16 - after responding to what was initially reported as a home invasion robbery. Sheriff’s spokesman Bob Haenel (HAN’-el) says the incident turned out to be a deadly domestic dispute.
The two older teens - a male and a female - remained in custody Wednesday charged with murder in adult court. Their 16-year-old brother was in juvenile custody facing the same charge.
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the argument.
