KINGSTON, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania man working as a home caregiver has been charged with sexual assault on his patient after co-workers voiced their suspicions.

WNEP-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1RB7d7l ) court papers show that Andrew Dula admitted to Kingston police that he began sexually assaulting his victim at a home for patients with disabilities in November.

The documents say the victim, who wasn’t identified, is developmentally disabled and suffers from cerebral palsy. The Shickshinny man allegedly stopped the assaults in February after the victim was able to scream loud enough to draw the attention of another care worker.

The home where Luzerne County prosecutors say the abuse occurred is operated by the Institute for Human Resources and Services in Kingston. Officials had no comment.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next month.
