SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities are investigating what they call a “freak accident” that resulted in the death of a woman at a Summerville drive-thru.

Dorchester County Coroner Alice Durr tells local media that 28-year-old Pamela Page died Wednesday morning.

Summerville Police Capt. Jon Rogers says Page was at the drive-thru of Biggby Coffee on Old Trolley Road when she apparently dropped something out of her car. She opened her car door and bent down to pick it up. From there, Rogers says she apparently hit the accelerator and was pinned.

Durr says Page died from blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

The owners of Biggby Coffee closed the store Wednesday out of respect for Page’s family.
