NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (AP) - State police are investigating a crash involving a car and a bus carrying more than 30 people in North Stonington.

It happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on Route 2.

Fire officials say the driver of the car had to be extricated from her vehicle. The passengers on the bus exited through an emergency door. No one was immediately identified.

It’s unclear what caused the crash. Police say they believe one vehicle attempted to pass the other on the road.

The driver of the car and some passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No arrests were made.
