SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The mother of a man who was fatally shot by police is facing criminal charges after prosecutors say she drove her car into a Utah Highway Patrol cruiser in Tooele County.

Court records show Susan Hunt was charged Monday with five counts, including driving under the influence and reckless endangerment.

Police say a trooper was looking for a reckless driver in January when he found her swerving over the road and moving in and out of the southbound lane. Her car struck the cruiser’s driver-side door.

Authorities say Hunt appeared to be suffering from a medical issue and was taken to a hospital.

No lawyer was listed for Hunt in court records Tuesday.

Her son, 22-year-old Darrien Hunt, was shot by Saratoga Springs police in 2014.
