HICKORY, N.C. (AP) - A second victim has died after a shooting in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant in Hickory.

Hickory Police tell local media outlets that 28-year-old Cody William Watts of Hickory, who was wounded in the Wednesday incident, died on Friday at a hospital.

Authorities say that 22-year-old Richelle Scott Lail of Hudson died at the scene.

Following the shooting, 22-year-old Eric Terril Yount of Granite Falls was charged with first-degree murder in Lail’s death. Police say the attempted murder charge filed when Watts was wounded will be upgraded.

Police were called to the scene around 6 p.m. Wednesday after reports of a domestic disturbance.

Yong appeared in court on Thursday and requested a court-appointed attorney. A probable cause hearing will be held later this month.
