SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Savannah police say a woman suspected of shoplifting left an infant in a grocery store as she fled the scene.
Police say a woman who was previously banned from the store was spotted inside the business Monday evening. They say the woman departed the store as the employee approached her but left behind a baby.
The woman was watching the child for its mother, and the Department of Family and Children Services showed up to care for the child. The baby has since been returned to its mother.
Police say they’ve issued arrest warrants for 31-year-old Lesha Reed following the incident.
