CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - It’s not too late to get a flu shot before the season ends in May.

The Wyoming News reports (https://bit.ly/1SzQLTK) some health officials say this flu season hasn’t been as bad as some in past years.

A Centers for Disease Control flu map shows widespread activity of the contagious viral infection in 33 states.

HealthReach lab manager Karen Kent says patients are strongly urged to get flu shots.

Dr. Matt Ptaszkiewicz of HealthReach says 10 percent of people he treats for the flu received the shot. He said this season has been much milder than flu activity over the last five years.

Flu season typically runs from October through May.
