TULLOS, La. (AP) - Two men have been arrested on charges of killing a Texas couple who were reported missing and later found dead in LaSalle Parish.
Eighteen-year-old Austin Dyess and 26-year-old Joshua Sant were arrested Friday on charges of second degree murder and criminal conspiracy to commit second-degree murder.
The LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office tells local media that the men killed Chelsey Copling, 19, and Demond Garner, 26. The bodies of the Hawkins, Texas, couple were found in a wooded area near Tullos on Thursday.
The sheriff’s office says the suspects and victims spent time together, having met through a mutual friend.
Copling and Garner were reported missing after they walked away from a house in Tullos April 24.
