BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Officials say more than 1,800 bags of trash were picked up by hundreds of volunteers along the major north-south highway corridor in North Dakota’s oil patch.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/24Pdjr5 ) reports the cleanup of U.S. Highway 85 from Bowman to Williston occurred last week.

State Department of Transportation district engineer Larry Gangl says the 169-mile stretch of the oil patch highway needed some special attention because of the large traffic volume and the amount of debris that blows off trucks.
