URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) - A grand jury will not indict any of the three Urbandale police officers who were involved in a shooting that killed a Des Moines man.

The Urbandale Police Department also says Wednesday that an internal investigation into the Feb. 13 shooting that killed 29-year-old Ali Eisa Abdalla Yahia found that the officers followed department rules regarding use of force. The officers were identified as Sgt. Jeff Casey and officers Anthony Brooks and Justice Weaver.

The shooting happened at a Holiday Inn lobby in Urbandale while police were responding to a drug complaint. Sgt. Gary Lang said the officers met a man who was later identified as Yahia, and two women in the hotel lobby. Officials say Yahia shot at police and an officer returned fire.

Yahia died from his wounds.
