TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson-area man accused of killing his wife last year has pleaded guilty except insane to a first-degree murder charge.
Pima County prosecutors say George Majewski entered his plea Thursday. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on June 9 and expected to get a life term at a state hospital.
Authorities say Majewski called 911 on April 12, 2015 and said he had choked his wife, who was a prominent Oro Valley veterinarian.
County sheriff’s deputies found Dr. Kerman Dubash unresponsive on the floor of the couple’s home.
Authorities say she died more than a week later when she was taken off of life support.
Majewski also was a former veterinarian. He reportedly lost his license several years ago after a threatening run-in with a client.
