BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) - The families of two men killed in a Biddeford fire have reached a settlement in their wrongful death lawsuit against the building’s owner.

Twenty-three-year-old Michael Moore and 21-year-old James Ford died as a result of the fire.

Lawyers for their say their claims have been settled for a confidential amount and the cases have been dismissed by federal court.

The families of Moore and Ford filed their lawsuit against building owner Nielsen Clark in May 2015. Moore died of smoke inhalation in the September 2014 fire. Ford died a month later from complications.

A grand jury later indicted Dylan Collins of Biddeford on charges of depraved indifference murder and arson. He was 18 at the time of the fire.

Collins is awaiting trial. He has pleaded not guilty.
